Proximity Sensing, Hand Detection, Break-a-beam with MLX75303 SensorEyeC

A similar principle applies to break-a-beam detection. Here, a moving object breaks a NIR light beam. NIR light is transmitted by an IR LED that shines on a distant sensor or that shines on a reflector. Applications range from detecting customers entering a store to object presence detection on conveyer belts and industrial machine shutdown when an object is detected in a dangerous area.
